Teacher Education Program
The Teacher Education Program at Pulaski Technical College serves as the launching point for students that are interested in becoming classroom teachers.
The goal of the Teacher Education Program is to prepare students for the teaching profession, to help students identify the area in which they may wish to teach, and to provide the successful transfer and seamless entry into the Teacher Education Program at a four-year institution. The Teacher Education Program is designed to meet the needs of individuals interested in transferring to a four-year university to complete requirements for a teaching license to work with students in the public school setting.
Students must earn a grade of a C or better in each course, have a 2.75 grade point average and successfully pass all three components of the Praxis Core for Educators Tests to satisfy requirements for the Associate of Arts Teaching degree. Passage of the Praxis core examination is required for entry into a college of education at a four-year institution.
