|Job Description: ||Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas the state's largest two-year college, is accepting applications for an adjunct faculty position in Mathematics. This position requires a commitment to teaching in a dynamic community college setting with the ability to successfully interact and respond to the broad ranging needs of an academically and culturally diverse campus setting.
Adjunct Faculty Role: Adjunct faculty are professionals with the responsibility of providing a quality learning experience for Pulaski Technical College students on a semester basis. Adjunct faculty reports to the department chair to perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning. Other responsibilities of this position include: Actively and consistently participate in adjunct orientations and workshops. Establish and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with students, colleagues and staff. Demonstrate a willingness to use contemporary educational techniques and technology. Utilize syllabus, timeline of class curriculum and other information to present information in a timely manner for the success of students. Arrange for the acquisition and preparation of appropriate materials and equipment in a timely manner necessary to meet course objectives. Provide prompt and accurate records of assessments and final grade reports. Provide prompt and friendly responses to student emails and inquiries as needed.
|Minimum Requirements: ||Minimum qualifications: A masters degree and 18 graduate hours in the mathematics discipline is required. The successful candidate will possess the competence and experience to develop, revise, implement and assess curriculum to ensure that students are acquiring necessary skills, including familiarity with technology used in classroom settings. Candidates for this position must have flexibility to teach day, evening, or weekend classes. Teaching assignments may include satellite locations, alternative delivery methods and all levels of Mathematics. They must also possess a thorough knowledge of the teaching field, a commitment to high academic standards, a dedication to student success, and excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills. |
