|Job Description: ||Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas, one of the state's fastest growing two year colleges is accepting applications for a Training Specialist. This full-time training specialist will be responsible for providing some of the center's training. The training specialist will also assist with coordination, leadership, marketing, and registering students for classes offered by the Center. This position reports directly to the Vice President for Economic Development and works with and supports others directly involved with the Business and Industry Center
• Teach computer software and programming classes
• Provide leadership for the computer training program
o Develop class schedules
o Coordinated room assignments
o Assist in the development of training brochures
o Select and purchase computer training materials
o Evaluate the need for new courses and develop and implement as necessary
o Classroom computer equipment support and maintenance
o Purchase software
o Purchase computer equipment for training, staff and networking
• Work with local governmental agency, business and industry leaders
o Respond to training needs
o Serve on the advisory committee for the Business and Industry Center
o Plan, organize, develop, implement and review effective computer training programs to meet the needs of business, industry and government agencies
o Initiate and prepare contracts, training agreements and memorandums of understanding with clients
o Coordinate class schedules to meet client needs
• Supervise adjunct computer instructors
o Recruit and contract with adjunct instructors in accordance with PTC policies
o Coordinate adjunct assignments and scheduling
o Familiarize and orient adjunct instructors with PTC/BIC methods and requirements
o Assess/evaluate adjunct instructors performance in accordance with PTC/BIC policies
• Coordinate grants
o Assist clients in obtaining grants for training
o Technology Transfer (T2) Program
• Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.
The successful applicant will:
1. Have some supervisory experience.
2. Have an aptitude for teaching adults, especially underserved populations
3. Be able to work successfully within a team environment.
4. Be able to travel.
|Minimum Requirements: ||MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Program management, teaching, and / or higher education experience preferred.
