|Job Description: ||Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas, the state's largest two-year college, is accepting applications for a full-time faculty position in Developmental Mathematics. This position requires a commitment to teaching in a dynamic community college setting with the ability to successfully interact and respond to the broad ranging needs of an academically and culturally diverse campus setting. The successful candidate(s) will join the instructional team of Developmental Mathematics in August 2013.
Faculty are professionals with the responsibility of providing a quality learning experience for Pulaski Technical College students. Faculty perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning. Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Actively and consistently participate in department meetings, institutional committees and professional development trainings.
Establish and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with students, colleagues and staff.
Demonstrate a willingness to use contemporary educational techniques and technology.
Utilize syllabus, timeline of class curriculum and other information to present information in a timely manner for the success of students.
Maintain and use an online course management and grading system with each course as required by the department.
Arrange for the acquisition and preparation of appropriate materials and equipment in a timely manner necessary to meet course objectives.
Provide prompt and accurate records of assessments and final grade reports.
Provide prompt and friendly responses to student emails and inquiries as needed.
|Minimum Requirements: ||Minimum qualifications:
A masters degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline of applied mathematics or mathematics education. Candidates graduation in the spring semester will be considered.
Two years experience teaching underprepared students, preferably in a college setting involving a diverse student body.
The successful candidate will possess the competence and experience to develop, revise, implement and assess curriculum to ensure that students are acquiring necessary skills. The candidate will also be expected to be familiar with and to utilize web-based educational technology in classroom settings.
Teaching assignments may include satellite locations, alternative delivery methods and all levels of Developmental Mathematics. They must also possess a thorough knowledge of the teaching field, a commitment to high academic standards, a dedication to student success, and excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
