| Job Description: | Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas, one of the state's fastest growing two year colleges, is accepting applications for a part-time Professional Tutor/Mentor.
The TRIO Student Support Services Tutor-Mentor works under the overall guidance of the TRIO Student Support Services Education Specialist. The goal of the TRIO SSS program is to increase the retention and graduation rates of its participants and facilitate their transition from one level of higher education to the next. The tutor-mentor will assist students to address their academic challenges and offer guidance on balancing their home, work and school life.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Works in the TRIO SSS tutoring lab and classroom to provide individual and group tutoring for SSS participants in various core subjects.
• Regularly meets with assigned participants to monitor progress and to reassess needs and interventions.
• Provides academic planning and scheduling support for each participant.
• Develops relationships with faculty and staff to promote referral of eligible students to SSS.
• Provides all necessary data for the evaluation of the SSS project.
• Demonstrates commitment to objectives of the English SSS project.
• Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.

| Minimum Requirements: | Two years of work experience teaching college-level or college-remedial courses and a background similar to target population is desirable. |
