IMPORTANT LOAN ANNOUNCEMENT
Pulaski Technical College Converts to Direct Loan Program
Effective June 2010
Beginning with the Summer I 2010 enrollment term, Pulaski Technical College will convert its federal student loan process to the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program (Direct Loan Program) from the Federal Family Education Loan Program. This action is the result of the passage of the student loan reform act.
Passage of this new law will now require all institutions who participate in student lending programs to do so under the Direct Loan Program. Direct Loans go through the U.S. Department of Education and funds come directly from the U.S. Treasury to Pulaski Technical College.
Pulaski Technical College wants to ensure that this transition is as easy as possible for our students and that students receive their loan funds in a timely manner. As a result of this change, all students who borrow loan funds beginning with the Summer I 2010 term, will be required to complete a Direct Loan Master Promissory Note. Students who have previously completed entrance loan counseling at PTC will be considered to have met their loan counseling requirement. Students who will be borrowing for the first time at PTC will be required to complete Entrance Loan Counseling for Direct Loans.
Detailed instructions for completing the Master Promissory Note and Entrance Loan Counseling for Direct Loans are found under the loan procedures section of this Web site.
