Pulaski Tech celebrates Banned Books Week9/24/2010
Pulaski Technical College celebrates Banned Books Week Sept. 25-Oct. 2 with on-campus readings by faculty, staff and students and a presentation and poetry reading by two visiting poets.
Banned Books Week celebrates the freedom to read banned or challenged books, to raise awareness about material that has been banned or challenged in a variety of settings, and to discuss issues relating to intellectual freedom.
Here's what's happening:
- Tuesday, Sept. 28 - Banned Books readings, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Campus Center promenade
- Wednesday, Sept. 29 - Banned Books readings, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Campus Center promenade
- Thursday, Sept. 30 - Forum on Editorial Roles with Allison Joseph and Jon Tribble, from The Crab Orchard Review, 11 a.m., US Bank Room, Information Technology building.
- Thursday, Sept. 30 - Poetry reading by Allison Joseph, 6:30 p.m., RJ Wills Lecture Hall, Campus Center.
