Pulaski Technical College recorded a 9.3 percent increase in enrollment for the fall 2010 semester over this time last year, marking a record number of students for the state's largest two-year college.
The college's Office of Enrollment Services reported 11,213 students enrolled in college-credit classes this fall, compared to 10,255 last fall.
Classes began Aug. 16, and enrollment from the 11th day of class is used for reporting to the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.
Of this fall's enrollment:
- 66 percent are female; 34 percent are male.
- The student body racial make-up is 51 percent black; 44 percent white; 3 percent Hispanic; and 2 percent other.
- 50 percent are full-time students; 50 percent are part-time students
Of the total, 1,833 people are attending classes at the college's Little Rock-South site, marking a 23 percent in enrollment at that site, up from 1,492 students last fall.
Pulaski Tech's enrollment also includes students attending the college's main campus in North Little Rock, Little Rock-West at 8901 Kanis Road, the Saline County Career Center, the Aerospace Technology Center near the North Little Rock Airport, and some credit classes at the Business and Industry Center in Little Rock.
