Miriam Karanja, a health program specialist for the Arkansas Department of Health Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Program, will discuss smokeless tobacco at 12 p.m. Monday in the R.J. Wills Lecture Hall, located on the second floor of the Campus Center.
The event is part of a series of tobacco-awareness presentations sponsored by Pulaski Tech's Counseling and Advising Department.
Beginning Aug. 1, the Arkansas Clean Air on Campus Act of 2009 prohibits smoking on all state college campuses.
As a state-supported college, Pulaski Technical College is included in the smoking ban. The act defines "campus" to mean all property, including buildings and grounds, which are owned or operated by a state-supported institution of higher education.
