PTC congratulates 2010 Skills Winners4/20/2010

The winners and their instructors will be honored Thursday night at the Advisory Committees Dinner on the main campus.
Pulaski Tech was well represented at the two-day event held April 13-14 at the Hot Springs Conference and Convention Center. Hundreds of students competed in events testing their academic and technical knowledge, ability and leadership skills in more than 50 technical career fields.
Students from the Pulaski Technical College Arkansas Culinary School won eight medals, sweeping the Culinary Arts and the Baking and Pastries competitions. Students in the Technical and Industrial Division brought home nine medals. Students in Ray Hoover's class swept the Small Engine Repair category, marking the college's 27th straight, gold-medal finish in this category.
Students from the Saline County Career Center competed in both the college-level and high-school level competitions, bringing home 15 medals, including six gold medals.
Gold medalists also receive tuition scholarships to Pulaski Technical College and the chance to advance to the National Leadership and Skills Conference on June 20-25 in Kansas City. This year more than 5,000 students are expected to compete at the national level in 96 different trade, technical and leadership fields.
