Prospective college students can get free help completing college financial aid applications this weekend at College Goal Sunday at Pulaski Technical College.
The program provides college-bound students and their parents with assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the college financial aid application.
Pulaski Tech financial aid advisors will be assisting students from 2-4 p.m. Sunday in Ottenheimer Library on the college's main campus in North Little Rock, 3000 West Scenic Drive. In addition to receiving assistance in filling out the FAFSA, participants will receive general information about state and federal financial aid programs will be available.
Similar events will be taking place at 38 sites throughout the state. For a complete list, visit www.arcollegegoalsunday.org.
Completing the FAFSA is a requirement for any Arkansas student who would like to apply for the new Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship, also known as the Lottery Scholarship. More than 20,000 Arkansans are expected to apply for this new scholarship program to assist them in paying for college beginning with the fall 2010 semester.
Students can apply for the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship on the Arkansas Department of Higher Education website at www.adhe.edu, and click on the YOUniversal Application link.
