Enrollment at Pulaski Technical College reached a record high this fall, with 7,222 students registering for day, evening, Saturday and online classes.

Dr. Dan F. Bakke, college president, said headcount enrollment on the 11^th day of classes, which serves as the official census day, represented an 18 percent increase from the fall 2003 enrollment of 6,128 and a 35 percent increase from the fall 2002 enrollment of 5,348.

"Much of our growth can be attributed to the need for the types of programs and services we offer the central Arkansas community," Bakke said.

This fall, the college also opened a location at the intersection of Kanis and Barrow roads in Little Rock. More than 1,000 students are enrolled in classes at the Little Rock site.

Pulaski Tech is the largest two-year college in Arkansas and one of the fastest growing two-year colleges in the nation. The college offers more than 40 associate degree and technical certificate programs designed for career entry or advancement, as well as a comprehensive university-transfer program, continuing education opportunities and customized training for business and industry.
