Innovation, the quarterly newsletter of Pulaski Technical College, has been named best community college newsletter in the nation by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations of the American Association of Community Colleges.
Pulaski Tech received the gold Paragon Award at NCMPR's annual awards ceremony in March in Baltimore. Carol Langston, dean of college relations, is editor of Innovation. Amy Bonds is graphic designer. Former Times reporter Amy Cary also contributes to the publication.
In addition to the national award, Pulaski Tech received seven district awards from NCMPR, including gold Medallion Awards for best community college newsletter and best outdoor advertising campaign; silver Medallion Awards for the 2003 literary magazine, The View From Here, a promotional brochure and a fall registration print advertisement; and a bronze award for the 2003 student handbook.
NCMPR is a professional organization for individuals involved in marketing, communications and public relations at community colleges. The Paragon and Medallion Awards competitions are designed to recognize and reward professional excellence in two-year college marketing and public relations.
