Week of Welcome draws to a close Friday with a Karaoke and Kream celebration from 10 a.m. until noon on the main campus.
Students can enjoy free Yarnell's ice cream and hear music by fellow students on the Campus Center promenade. In case of rain, the event will move into the Grand Hall inside the Campus Center.
Week of Welcome, sponsored by Student Life and Leadership, has featured various on-campus activities to kick off the fall 2008 semester. The PTC Patrollers were back this year, manning information tables around campus and assisting new and returning students on Monday and Tuesday.
On Wednesday, students visited the Campus and Community Involvement Fair in the Campus Center foyer. Students learned about opportunities available with on-campus organizations such as the Student Government Association, Student Ambassadors, Metro Ministries, Phi Theta Kappa, FRESH, Trio Scholars, Phi Beta Lambda, the Fine Arts Association, and 12:20, a new Bible study group.
Several off-campus agencies also shared volunteer opportunities with Pulaski Tech students. Off-campus vendors included the Arkansas Secretary of State, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas, the Little Rock Zoo, Habitat for Humanity, the Arkansas AIDS Foundation, Pulaski County Youth Services and Arkansas Children's Hospital.
