Pulaski Technical College recorded a 3 percent increase in enrollment for the spring 2008 semester over this time last year, marking an all-time high for the state's largest two-year college.
Pulaski Tech has 8,962 students enrolled in college-credit classes, an increase of 294 students from spring 2007 and an increase of 194 students over the fall 2007 enrollment.
All enrollment numbers are preliminary as of the end of the 11th day of classes, the official day on which reports are based, and subject to further verification before submission to the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.
Of this spring's enrollment:
- 69 percent are female and 31 percent are male.
- 44 percent of students are enrolled full-time; 56 percent of students attend part-time.
- The student body racial make-up is 50 percent black, 46 percent white, 1 percent Asian, 1 percent Hispanic, and 2 percent other.
Pulaski Technical College's enrollment includes people attending for-credit classes at the college's main campus in North Little Rock, at the Kanis Road site in Little Rock, the Saline County Adult Education Center in Benton, the Saline County Career Center in Bauxite, the Pulaski Technical College Arkansas Culinary School in Little Rock and at the Business and Industry Center located on the campus of the Aerospace Education Center in Little Rock.
