Pulaski Technical College All-Star student Jennifer Crumpton has been awarded a full transfer scholarship to the Arkansas college or university of her choice.
The scholarship award was announced Tuesday during an awards ceremony at the annual Arkansas Association of Two-Year Colleges' fall conference in Hot Springs.
Ed Frankin, executive director of the Arkansas Association of Two-Year Colleges, delivered the good news to the students.
"You can attend any four-year college in the state free of charge," he said. "They say you are the best and they want you there."
Representatives from most of the state's four-year colleges and universities met with the scholarship recipients after the awards ceremony.
Gov. Mike Beebe gave the keynote address, telling the All-Stars that "it is no small achievement to be honored as the one from your college."
Jennifer is pursuing her associate degree at Pulaski Tech and hopes to pursue a master's degree in nursing from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She plans to specialize in women's health.
"A most meaningful experience has been the confidence I gained from earning an A in my Anatomy and Physiology class. I know now that I can succeed in college."
In addition to her outstanding grades, Jennifer is a member of the Arkansas Association of Women in Two-Year Colleges, Student Government Association and Phi Theta Kappa. She has made the Dean's List and the President's List.
