In a salute to area veterans and active military personnel, participants in the Pulaski Technical College car and bike show will parade through the Towbin Healthcare Center campus at Ft. Roots at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25. "Veterans Choice" awards will be presented in car and bike divisions.
The car and bike show, sponsored by O'Reilly Auto Parts, is just one event to be held in conjunction with Pulaski Tech's first Automotive Tradeshow that day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3000 West Scenic Drive, North Little Rock.
Other events include a model car contest, a coloring book contest for kids sponsored by PPG Industries, the O'Reilly Auto Parts racecar simulator, radio-controlled car races, auto flea market and a guest appearance by Elvis impersonator Butch Dicus. The event is free and open to the general public. Entry fee in the car and bike show is $10.
Free hot dogs and soft drinks will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. I-CAR, an international, nonprofit training organization, will provide free Advanced Estimating classes for collision repair technicians from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. in the U.S. Bank Community Room on the first floor of the college's Information Technology Center.
Participants also will have an opportunity to meet area automotive vendors and view the latest products. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day.
