This fall Pulaski Technical College will have its first community-based
Festival Chorus, which will be open to Pulaski Tech students as well as to
anyone in the Central Arkansas community who loves to sing and can dedicate the
time for rehearsals.
The music repertoire will include an eclectic mix of music styles from gospel and jazz to video game music and even opera.
The Festival Chorus is offered through Pulaski Tech's Community and Continuing Education Program. No auditions are necessary.
"With Lifelong learning, it's more about learning about the music and not just about a performance," said PTC Choir Director Michael Ekbladh. "They will learn about the music, the style and the composer. It's going to be a chance to experience a style of music that perhaps you haven't experienced before."
The chorus will rehearse on Mondays, from 7-9 p.m. in the Information Technology Center (Room 101B) on the Main Campus in North Little Rock. Rehearsals begin Aug. 18. A community performance will be schedule for November.
There is a $25 membership fee that helps cover the cost of the music, rehearsal and performance space, and the accompanist. For more information, contact chorus director Michael Ekbladh at 501-907-6670 x3408, or register online by clicking here.
