The PTC Amicus Curiae Paralegal Club will install the following officers for
the 2014-15 at 6 p.m. tonight in the Campus Center Private Dining Room:
Jeanine Chelonis - president
Casey Mossman - vice president
Teresa Seigrist - secretary
Donna Reynolds - treasurer
After the installation, Charlotte A. Scott, an Attorney Specialist for the Office of Child Support Enforcement, will speak on "The Thoroughly Modern Paralegal: Provision of Legal Support Services in the 21st Century."
Her presentation will include discussion of academic degrees, regulations and
technology for paralegals.
Scott received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Northeastern State University (Tahlequah, Okla.) in 1997 and earned her Juris Doctorate at the University of Arkansas School of Law in 2000. She is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Arkansas. She has worked in private practice at a small firm, as in-house counsel for a major corporation, and in legal process outsourcing. She has clerked for two federal district court judges. Since 2004, Scott has taught Legal Research in the paralegal program at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith
