The first endowed scholarship fund at
The endowment, called the Simmons First National Bank Endowed Scholarship Fund, will provide a $500 scholarship each semester to a Pulaski Tech student who shows academic promise and needs financial assistance.
"We are very honored to be the recipient of this generous contribution, which will serve as a lead gift in our new effort to secure endowments for scholarships, program support, faculty development and other college initiatives," Dr. Dan F. Bakke, college president, said.
"We are excited about the evolution of Pulaski Technical College," Wade said. "An educated work force is the key to the economic success of this community."
Applications for the Simmons First National Bank Endowed Scholarship for the 2006-07 academic year are available in the Pulaski Tech Office of Development, Administation 115.
Pulaski Tech students who wish to apply for the scholarship must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Full-time (12 or more credit hours per semester) sophomore pursuing an Associate of Arts
Head of low-to-moderate income household (Application for financial aid must be on file.)
A 300-word essay must be submitted with the application. Deadline to apply is April 14. For more information about the scholarship, contact Kristy Perryman, development associate, at (501) 812-2387.
