Marc Guizol, Executive Sous Chef at The Capital Hotel, won the Diamond Chef
preliminary competition and will compete in the finale against reigning Diamond
Chef Dan Cappello from the Chenal Country Club on June 3.
Six area chefs, including executive chefs from Cache, Starving Artist, YaYa's Euro Bistro, Arkansas Heart Hospital, and Pulaski Tech's own Chef Philippe Ducrot, competed in the preliminary competition.
Chef Philippe competed in the final round against Chef Guizol, who bested him by 1.5 points. (Guizol scored 172 points and Chef Philippe scored 170.5)
The competition was judges by well-respected chefs in the country - including Paul Bash, Andre Poirot, and two out-of-state judges from the American Culinary Federation.
Diamond Chef Arkansas, which is Pulaski Technical College Foundation's largest fundraiser, will be held at the Statehouse Convention Center on June 3.
