Native American artist and performer Tommy Wildcat will be on the Main Campus on Wednesday, Sept. 11, to share his Cherokee culture, history and traditions.
Two performances are scheduled at 10 a.m. and at noon in the Campus Center foyer.
Tommy is an accomplished flutist and hands traditional Cherokee river cane flutes. He will also perform some traditional tribal songs he learned from his father.
In the past, Tommy Wildcat has appeared in the Discovery Channel's Native American Series How the West Was Lost (The Trail of Tears) (1993); Greystone Productions' The Trail of Tears (1994); Arkansas Educational Television Network's The Cherokee People; the TNT World Premiere of Tecumseh, The Last Warrior; and received special credits in Lee Johnson's The Trail of Tears.
