Pulaski Technical College will implement a new admissions policy beginning with the summer 2013 term. All first-time college students will be required to meet minimum reading scores on their ACT or COMPASS assessment and to apply and submit all admissions documents by a deadline date.
To assist students in preparing for the COMPASS assessment, a COMPASS preparation video is available on the PTC Website by clicking here. Students successfully completing the video will be able to take their first COMPASS assessment for free, a $20 value. Students who do not achieve minimum reading scores will have the opportunity to take a free class this summer offered through Literacy Action of Central Arkansas, or seek remediation offered through other community partners.
The college will also require all first-time college students and transfer students attending in the fall term to participate in an online new student orientation (NSO) interactive video session as part of the admissions process. Online video NSO sessions will be available for student viewing beginning May 1. Once students have completed NSO and submitted all required admission documents they will use an online scheduling system to schedule their advising and registration appointment.
Appointments at a variety of day and evening times will be available beginning June 3.
