Pulaski Technical College Arkansas Culinary School will host Whitney Miller, author and winner of the MasterChef television competition, noon - 3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27 at the Pulaski Technical College Little Rock - South site.
Miller will present a live cooking demonstration and will autograph her cookbook, Modern Hospitality: Simple Recipes with Southern Charm (Rodale, 2011) with foreword by Gordon Ramsay. Modern Hospitality offers recipes for southern staples and innovative new dishes such as Shrimp and Sausage with Grits Soufflé, Buttermilk Pan Fried Chicken with Creamed Collard Greens, Oven-Fried Catfish, Mississippi Cheesesteak, and Sweet Potato Peanut Butter Blondies. Copies of the book will be on sale at the college's Finish Line Café.
Whitney Miller was the winner of Season 1 of Gordon Ramsay's competitive cooking reality show MasterChef on Fox Television Network. In order to win the competition, Miller placed among 100 contestants in a nationwide casting call. She then qualified for further advancement over the course of the season by winning consecutive culinary tests, challenges and cook-offs.
