Pulaski Tech theater to stage children's production4/13/2011
Pulaski Technical College's theater department will present Cindy Ella's Going to the Ball, Baby April 14-16 at the Argenta Community Theater at 405 Main St. in North Little Rock.
Showtimes are 7 p.m. Thursday; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday; and 2 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free and on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pulaski Technical College theater instructor Sheila Glasscock will direct the 70-minute, one-act comedy, which is suitable for children and adults.
The comedy opens with Cindy Ella doing her homework and mending for her stepmother and stepsisters. Big Mama, a fairy godmother, appears and gets Cindy to the Castle High Prom with the help of two other fairy godmothers, Brunhilde and Bluebell, whose lack of competence makes for a funny plot.
The Pulaski Technical College Student Ambassadors and the North Little Rock Mayor's Council will host a prom dress drive. Donations can be taken to the theater on the night of the event. For alternate arrangements, contact Tracy Courage at 501-812-2324.
