Pulaski Technical College’s Business and Industry Center offers soft skills courses focusing on employment readiness and job skills development. The content is suitable for recent college graduates with little or no work experience, job seekers re-entering the workforce or looking to make a change, and current employees needing to refine their skills. These courses can help you and your employees foster and maintain successful internal and external working relationships. The content is equally applicable to private sector companies, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies.
While technical skills are necessary for any position, soft skills are critical to building productive workplace relationships, building and keeping a customer base, employee retention, transferal of technical knowledge into usable information, effective teams, and competent leadership. Many people think that soft skills are universal – that people instinctively know the importance of being on time or how to get along in the workplace, that a newly promoted manager will know how to supervise, or an executive will know how to give a riveting presentation. However, assuming soft skills are universal can lead to a lot of frustration; it’s important to focus as much on soft skills training and development as on traditional hard skills.
Open enrollment is available for individuals and small groups. For groups of 10 or more, customized, closed courses, and on-site training may be available. To view our upcoming classes and register, please click the catalog and registration button below:
