UA - Pulaski Tech is Green

University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College has implemented a college-wide single stream recycling program. Recycling containers have been placed throughout every campus site to make recycling paper, plastic, and aluminum convenient for faculty, staff and students. Paper, plastic, and aluminum products can all be put in these containers together. Materials are separated for recycling at a Waste Management recycling facility.

UA-PTC also has placed red containers throughout the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute to hold all food waste. It is sent to American Composting Incorporated for composting. This measure, coupled with the single stream recycling program, created the first “zero waste” Culinary Institute in the nation.

The UA-PTC Facilities and Environment Impact committee oversees the UA-PTC Green Team, which works continuously on education, promotion, and implementation of environmental awareness. Reducing the volume of waste going to landfills is an easy but important step in leaving our environment cleaner and healthier for future generations.
