Job Description: The Events and Volunteer Manager reports to the executive director of the college foundation and is responsible for coordinating the development office's fundraising special events, recruitment and administration of an active volunteer program and major gift solicitation. The Events and Volunteer Manager will have at least three years of event and volunteer leadership and management experience, a proven track record of gift solicitation, and an understanding of the local social and business community. A successful track record and knowledge of event planning and gift implementation, along with the ability to motivate and coordinate volunteers and teams, are essential attributes for this position. The ability to communicate effectively and develop and cultivate relations while engaging prospective college partners is necessary to move volunteers to college leadership and advocacy roles. Implements assigned fundraising special events while also researching and determining a yearly special event plan and calendar activities that will best showcase the programs of the college and will introduce new patrons to the college. Establishes a strong communication network of media outlets to promote foundation activities and fundraising events. Use special events and volunteer program to feed and enhance major and planned gift solicitations. Establishes and maintains appropriate and necessary contacts to facilitate special event program and represent the college favorably. Develops and works effectively with a volunteer base to plan and hold special events. Serves as a positive college spokesperson within the community. Maintains appropriate paperwork, files, and acknowledgements pertaining to all development of special events. Develops periodic reports for the executive director summarizing special event and volunteer activities. Makes one-on-one and group presentations as required. Participates as assigned in other institutional advancement activities. Responsible for the prioritization of workload, completion of assignments, meeting deadlines and delegating tasks using innovative methods. Promotes personal and professional growth. Works independently and is accountable for the quality of program development. Works in a professional and collegial manner with faculty, staff and students in the best interest of the college and the people it serves. Maintains sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of college students. Understands and accepts assigned duties in a manner consistent with standards, mission and goals of Pulaski Technical College.
Minimum Requirements: ? Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ? Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Proven special events fundraising and volunteer recruitment record. Proven leadership skills and community involvement. Knowledge of Razors Edge and Auction Pay fundraising software. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Salary: $45,000
