WELCOME VETERANS, SERVICEMEMBERS AND DEPENDENTS to Pulaski Tech.
Servicemembers, veterans and dependants can use their military benefits and educational assistance programs at Pulaski Tech. Servicemembers and their families are eligible for in-state tuition benefits upon enrollment. Below is information that can help you with your Pulaski Tech enrollment and using military benefits.
For most people, 4 items are required to be admitted to Pulaski Tech:
1. A completed Application for Admission is found at http://www.pulaskitech.edu/admission/admission_requirements.asp.

Before you can receive VA educational benefits, you must apply to the VA. Go to the on-line VA application at https://www.gibill.va.gov. If you were in the military, you complete a 22-1990 form (link to http://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/forms/vba-22-1990-are.pdf). If you are a dependent, you complete a 22-5490 form (link to http://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/forms/vba-22-5490-are.pdf). Be sure to save a copy of this form. Several weeks after you submit your VA application, you will receive in the paper mail a Certificate of Eligibility. You must submit your Certificate of Eligibility to the Veteran Services Office to receive benefits at Pulaski Tech.
If you have received VA benefits at another college, you need two things to start your benefits at Pulaski Tech:
1. A Change of Program or Place of Training form.
2. Your Certificate of Eligibility.

No, if you receive the Montgomery GI Bill or dependents benefits, the VA does not pay your tuition and fees. Individuals using Chapter 30, Chapter 35, Chapter 1606 or Chapter 1607 must pay their tuition and fees. Only individuals receiving Chapter 31 and Post 9/11(100%) have all of their tuition and fees paid by the VA.
Yes, receiving VA benefits does not affect your eligibility for student aid. Additionally, most veterans and dependents must pay their own tuition and fees. Financial aid can help with this. Go to the Financial Aid webpage for more information.
You must complete Change of Degree Plan forms with both the Pulaski Tech Office of Admissions and Records and the Veterans Services Office. Veterans and individuals receiving Post 9/11 must complete a 22-1995. Dependents complete a 22-5495.
You get your tuition assistance through your service website (GoArmyEd, AIPortal, etc.). You should register for your classes before you apply for tuition assistance because you must enter specific cost information into your service website.
You must contact the Veterans Services Office each semester for which you want to receive VA benefits.
CAN I USE MY VA BENEFITS TO BECOME A PILOT?
Yes. The PTC professional pilot degree operates through Central Flying Service. Your first step is to visit their website www.central.aero. For flight training and cost information click here. All aviation classes are taken at Central Flying Service. Students must have at least a second class medical certificate to fly. Program costs are subject to change but the private pilot license will cost about $10,000. The single-engine instrument rating will cost about $10,000. The multi-engine instrument rating costs about $4,000. The single-engine commercial license will cost about $21,000. Commercial flight instructor ratings cost about $3,000 each. Students enrolled in the professional pilot degree are required to take non-aviation classes concurrent with their aviation classes. You can reach Central Flying Service at (501) 975-9330.
Yes, you can. Once you have registered with MYCAA and have their approval; MYCAA sends Pulaski Tech your information. You should register for your classes before you apply for MYCAA because you must give them specific cost information.

It is best if you visit with a Veterans Services Office representative to discuss transfer credit options.
If you have academic suspension or financial suspension, you are not eligible to receive VA benefits for the same period of time you are ineligible for financial aid. After your “no-assistance” time, you can receive your VA benefits again. To reinstate your benefits, veterans must submit to the VA a 22-1995. Dependents must submit a 22-5495. Both must also submit a 22-8873 to the VA and Veterans Services Office.
After you have been academically suspended, you must register for classes through the Academic Advising Center to be readmitted to Pulaski Tech.

The Veterans Services Office will most often contact and communicate with you through email. Email communication will be through your Pulaski Tech e-mail address. This address is ‘the first two letters of your first name’ + ‘your last name’ + ‘the last 4 digits of your PTC id number’ + ‘@students.pulaskitech.edu.’ For example, John Doe is firstname.lastname@example.org. Therefore, it is important that you check your Pulaski Tech email regularly. The exception to this is email replies. If you send an email from a non-Pulaski Tech account, the reply will be back to that same account.
