Required: 2 + years experience in CAD drafting of tools and/or machine components
Preferred: 2 + years experience in HP Solids/ME10 CAD drafting of tools and/or machine components
Required: Solid knowledge of tool and machine design practice, materials, heat treatments, tolerances and accepted drafting practices
Preferred: Good communication skills
Able to work on individual assignments or on team projects
Good engineering analysis skills
OTHER: Some travel is required
|Job Description: ||PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of the Mechanical Drafters position is to create detail drawings, assembly drawings, and illustrations from CAD wire-frame or solid models. The mechanical drafter needs a through knowledge of accepted tool design tolerances, dimensioning methods, and drawing layout conventions use for manufacturing of machine parts. The mechanical drafter is responsible that all document information is accurate and updated following established procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 Works with project engineering, design engineers or machine designers to ensure details
are accurate and provide the manufacturing group with all the necessary information to produce the part. Major and critical dimensioning will be used when applicable and correct tolerance and cost will be considered when detailing. Details will follow established methods and be accomplished in a timely manner.
2 With some guidance from engineers and designers, develops assembly drawings or illustrations that are neat and well laid out. Bill of materials, parts list, setup sheets, manuals, and information for the Internet, will be complete, accurate, and done in a timely manner.
3 ECN's and Bill of Materials cover sheets, provided to manufacturing and purchasing, need to be complete, accurate, and follow establish procedures. Information loaded into the Molex business system (SAP), and provided to vendors through the non-inventory process, must also be complete and accurate.
4 Must utilize the CAD and computer systems efficiently. Understands the tools, procedures, methods, and available software to perform the job.
5 Maintains flexibility and cooperation in completion of all miscellaneous tasks (cross sections, qualification measurement, database load, print room organization, manuals, print making and copying, or any activity associated with the development and documentation
6 Keeps accurate records and documentation. Prepares information as requested by engineers, management, or Tooling Group procedures.
7 Understand, support, and contribute to Molex TQM and Quality / Environmental Management Systems by following approved policies and procedures
8 Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
