Chef Jeff plans visit to Pulaski Tech

Jeff Henderson, an award-winning chef, television personality and best-selling author, will visit Pulaski Technical College on Thursday, Jan. 28, to share his remarkable story of finding his passion for cooking while incarcerated.

Henderson will speak at 2 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. in the Campus Center Grand Hall, located on the college's main campus at 3000 West Scenic Drive in North Little Rock.

Henderson, who was the star and host of The Chef Jeff Project that aired on the Food Network, spent nearly a decade in prison for drugs. The story of how he turned his life around was captured in the New York Times bestseller COOKED. He also has received widespread national media attention through programs and publications including The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, The Montel Williams Show, CNBC, National Public Radio's All Things Considered, People and USA Today.

Henderson has become one of the most inspirational African-American chefs in the country. In 2001, he became the first black chef to be named "Chef de Cuisine" at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. He eventually became an executive chef at several top restaurants, including Caf?ellagio where he worked until 2006.

Henderson's visit is sponsored by Pulaski Technical College's Network for Student Success and the PTC Arkansas Culinary School.
