New student registration for the fall 2009 semester at Pulaski Technical College began July 8 and will continue through Aug. 12.
New students should apply online at www.pulaskitech.edu and turn in all required documents before visiting with an advisor. Students entering college for the first time must submit a high school transcript with graduation date or GED scores and ACT or COMPASS scores no more than five years old. Students who previously attended college must submit official copies of transfer transcripts from the colleges or universities they attended. A record of ACT or COMPASS scores are required if college-level math and English were not completed with a grade of "C" or better.
The COMPASS is administered in the Campus Center on a walk-in basis from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but students must arrive by 6 p.m. The COMPASS also is offered on the first Saturday of the month, except in July. The next Saturday testing date will be Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Test-takers must arrive no later than 11 a.m. and have a valid identification. The testing fee is $10.
All students must submit proof of two measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) immunizations.
First-time college students will be required to attend new student orientation before they register for classes. Sessions are offered by appointment on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from July 8-Aug. 12. Fall classes begin Aug. 17.
