7/7/2008

Nearly 70 students from around Central Arkansas are spending this week and next at Pulaski Tech's main campus for Arkansas Teen College, which began Monday.

The students, ages 12 to 18, will spend the week learning about various art forms, from writing to photography to music.

The program began last year as the Summer Writing Institute for Teens (SWIFT) and has been expanded to include 13 subjects, including digital photography and video, critical thinking and creative writing, and jazz music.

A second session takes place July 14-18. Classes will be held 8 a.m.-noon on Pulaski Tech's main campus in North Little Rock.

The cost is $75 per session. Pulaski Technical College faculty, staff and students will receive a $10 discount.

Anyone interested in the second session may contact Allen Loibner at (501) 912-7272 or aloibner@pulaskitech.edu or visit www.pulaskitech.edu/arkansas_teen_college

Arkansas Teen College is supported in part by the Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage; the National Endowment for the Arts; and the C. Louis and Mary C. Cabe Foundation.
