PTC hosts Clothesline Project
3/4/2008

Expect to see some 300 tee-shirts hanging around campus today and Wednesday this week.

The tee-shirts are part of The Clothesline Project, designed to raise awareness of violence against women and children. The shirts will be displayed from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the Campus Center promenade. In case of rain, the shirts will be moved inside the Campus Center.

Visitors can also design and make a shirt in honor of someone they know affected by domestic violence. Shirts and craft supplies will be available inside the Campus Center foyer.

In addition, 30 life-size cutouts, which are part of The Silent Witness project, will be
set up outside the Campus Center. The cutouts represent the 30 women who died in Arkansas last year because of domestic violence.

Caroline Lewis, an English instructor, and Sarah Clements, a speech instructor, organized the event, which is being hosted by Pulaski Technical College's Fine Arts and Humanities division.

The Clothesline Project and The Silent Witness Project are both programs of the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
