Lunchtime Lemonada kick-off set for Feb. 11

Pulaski Technical College's Spanish Department will kick off its month-long Lunchtime Limonada series on Monday with the first of four presentations scheduled throughout February.
This year's Limonada series celebrates cultural diversity with a special emphasis on African influence in the Hispanic World. All the presentations will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Campus Center Grand Hall, Side A.

On Monday, Feb. 11, Spanish instructor Michael Pridmore, will present "African Influence in Spanish History", a discussion of African influences in both Spain and Colonial Latin America.

Other presentations are as follows:

Feb. 13: Afro-Spanish Poetry and Literature -- Spanish instructor Ulrike White and English instructor Antoinette Brim will share readings from favorite poets and discuss the power of poetry in general with specific reference to African influences.

Feb. 19: Afro-hispanic Women --  Sandra Harrington, instructor of Spanish and French, will discuss some Afro-hispanic women and the role they have played.

Feb. 21: Art in Latin America -- Spanish instructor Mike Pridmore will discuss historical art in Latin America, with some discussion of African influences.  Art instructor David Warren will discuss contemporary art in the Hispanic World.
