Contest essays due March 52/7/2008
The Library Committee is accepting entries for the 3rd Annual National Library Week Student Essay Contest.
The first-place winner receives a tuition scholarship for a three-hour course and publication in Milestones. The second-place winner will receive a bookstore gift certificate, and the third-place winner will receive a literary gift basket.
This year's contest theme is "Join the Circle of Knowledge @ Your Library?."
Essay themes may include, but are not limited to, a time when you used the library as a resource for gaining knowledge, how the library expands diversity and opens intellectual doors, or how a book, story or poem played a role in your life or the life of a loved one.
Essays should be between 750 and 1,000 words and must be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word along with the author's name, address and e-mail. Submissions should be sent to Sandy Longhorn at slonghorn@pulaskitech.edu
A committee of PTC faculty and staff will judge entries, and winners will be announced April 17 during National Library Week activities.
