Pulaski Technical College and Saline County will celebrate the grand opening of the Pulaski Technical College Saline County Career Center on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 3201 South Reynolds Road in Bauxite (formerly the Reynolds Metal Hurricane Creek plant).
Major announcements and a ribbon-cutting ceremony are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Following the ceremony, there will be a luncheon and education forum moderated by state Sen. Shane Broadway of Bryant. Panelists will include Saline County legislators. There will be an open house and tours of the center until 7 p.m. The public is invited to all events.
The Saline County Career Center is the result of an innovative partnership between Pulaski Tech and Saline County businesses, industries, education and government.
Made possible by a donation from Alcoa Inc. of 51 acres of land and seven buildings with over 50,000 square feet of floor space, the center offers secondary programs for high school students, as well as technical and occupational programs for the general public.
Three of the seven buildings have been renovated for education and training use. Future plans call for renovation of other buildings and possible new construction.
