Spirit Trickey Rowan, the daughter of Little Rock icon Minnijean Brown Trickey, one of the nine black students who integrated Central High in 1957, will be on campus tonight to discuss "The Little Rock Nine."
Her lecture, followed by question-and-answer time, begins at 6 p.m. in the R .J. Wills Lecture Hall on Pulaski Tech's main campus in North Little Rock.
Spirit works as a park ranger at the Central High National Historic site, which is across the street from where her mother and eight other black students braved angry crowds 50 years ago.
Mayo Johnson, a Pulaski Tech instructor who is this year's chair of the Little Rock Racial and Diversity Commission, will introduce Mrs. Rowan.
Spirit's lecture is the first event planned at Pulaski Tech to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the integration of Central High School.
