The Pulaski Technical College Ottenheimer Library Committee on Thursday announced the winners of the second annual National Library Week Student Essay Contest.
Deanna Smith of Little Rock won first place for her essay, "A Good Yarn." She was awarded a tuition scholarship for one 3-hour course and publication in Milestones.
Nikki Sinele of Maumelle won second place for her essay, "Getting Frosted." She received a $75 gift certificate to the PTC bookstore.
Third Place was awarded to David Baxter of North Little Rock for his essay, "My Attitude: Past, Present, and Future." He received a literary gift basket.
Honorable mentions were awarded to Rachel Waymire of North Little Rock for her essay, "Keeping it Real - Real Quiet" and to Holly Oxner of Maumelle for her essay, "A World of Imagination."
These outstanding writers were recognized during an awards ceremony Thursday night as part of Pulaski Technical College's National Library Week celebration.
