More than 150 high school counselors and 50 college representatives from around the state will be at Pulaski Technical College on Friday for the Arkansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers Articulation Workshop.
The workshop enables high school counselors to gather information about programs offered at Arkansas' two- and four-year colleges and universities to take back to students they serve. Representatives from both public and private institutions will be present.
Representatives from two out-of-state schools -- Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La.., and College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Mo. -- also plan to attend the workshop, along with officials from the Arkansas Department of Higher Education, the Arkansas Student Loan Authority and Baptist Health Schools of Nursing and Allied Health.
Kris Burford, director of financial aid at Pulaski Tech, will also give counselors an update on financial aid.
The workshop will be 10:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Pulaski Technical College Campus Center.
This is the first time Pulaski Technical College has hosted the event.
Friday's workshop is the fourth and final workshop scheduled this week throughout different geographical regions of the state. Other workshops are scheduled at Mid-South Community College in West Memphis today; Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville on Sept. 13; and at Ouachita Technical College in Malvern on Sept. 14.
