Congratulations to Chef Marc Guizol, executive sous chef at the Capital Hotel, who won the 2014 Diamond Chef Arkansas final competition Tuesday night.
Chef Guizol beat three-time winner Chef Dan Capello, executive chef at the Chenal Country Club.
This year's secret ingredient was lobster, which was announced just prior to the start of the competition. Chefs Guizol and Capello both created scrumptious fare, and in the end, were separated by only a margin of five points: Chef Guizol received 83.83 points; Chef Capello, 78.67.
This year's friendly competition also had another twist thrown in: Each chef had to trade their best sous chef to the opposing team before the start.
Proceeds from the competition are still being tallied.
