Essay contest deadline is March 1

Budding writers are encouraged to enter the Pulaski Technical College National Library Week student essay contest by Wednesday, March 1. Winners will be announced during National Library Week, April 3-7.

The theme of this year's contest is "Change your world @ your library." Possible topics include "My first memory of a library," "How I use the library as a student," "Introducing children to the library" and "How the library has made a difference in my life."

Essays should be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word format to Sandy Longhorn, contest coordinator, at slonghorn@pulaskitech.edu. Students should include their name, address and e-mail address in the entry.

The first-place winner will receive a tuition scholarship for one three-hour class and publication in Milestones. The second-place recipient will receive a bookstore gift certificate. Third-place recipient receives a literary gift basket.
