PTC hosts CAMHI grand opening on Sept. 24

Pulaski Technical College will host a Grand Opening for the new Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the college's Little Rock-South site, at 13000 Interstate 30.
The celebration is open to all students, faculty and staff as well as the general public. Participants will get to explore the $16 million, 60,000-square-foot facility which includes kitchens for candies and chocolates, soups and stocks, a butchery lab for meat preparation, several multipurpose kitchens, a wine classroom and mixology lab, computer labs, and the Celebrity Chef Theater with stadium-seating for up to 130 people.
Chef Sam Choy from Hawaii will be a guest speaker at the grand opening, and he will give a special demonstration at 4 p.m. in the theater for the college's donors.
The $16 million two story institute opened to students on Aug. 19, the first day of fall classes.
About 500 students are currently enrolled in culinary and hospitality programs.
The college offers Associate of Applied Science degrees in Baking and Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, and Hospitality Management. Technical certificates are offered in Baking and Pastry, Culinary Arts, and Wine and Spirits Studies. Nine certificates of proficiency are offered.
