Big Rock Reading Series returns to Pulaski Tech

Pulaski Technical College kicks off its Big Rock Reading on Tuesday, Sept. 17, with the first of several authors who will be visiting campus this fall and spring.

Novelist Garry Craig Powell will read from Stoning the Devil, his debut novel-in-stories set in the United Arab Emirates, beginning at 6 p.m. Powell is an associate professor in the Department of Writing at the University of Central Arkansas.

All readings will be held in the RJ Wills Lecture Hall in the Campus Center, located on the college's Main Campus in North Little Rock. After each reading, there will be a question-and-answer with the author and a book signing. All events are free and open to the public.

Oct. 24 - Hemingway scholars Dr. Adam Long and Dr. Ruth Hawkins, 6 p.m.
Nov. 15 - Diana Reaves and William Pittam, MFA candidates from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, 10 a.m.
Feb. 6, 2014 - Poet Jericho Brown, 6 p.m.
March 18, 2014 - Writing for a Living in Central Arkansas, featuring panelists from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Heifer International, and others, 6 p.m.
April 25, 2014 - Poet Charlotte Pence and Fiction Writer Adam Prince, 11 a.m. (in partnership with the Arkansas Literary Festival)
