Big Rock Reading Series to feature UA poet, fiction writer Nov. 8

This fall's Big Rock Reading Series concludes on Tuesday Nov. 8 with readings by poet Corrie Williamson and fiction writer Kaj Anderson-Bauer, who are both graduate students in the University of Arkansas's Master of Fine Arts Programs in Creative Writing and Translation.

The reading will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the RJ Wills Lecture Hall, located on the second floor of the Campus Center on the college's main campus in North Little Rock. After the reading, there will be a question-and-answer session with the authors. The event is free and open to the public.

Williamson, a native of Virginia, is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Poetry at the University of Arkansas, where she has taught composition and served as director of the Writers in the Schools Programs. She is the 2011 Walton Fellow in Poetry, and her work has appeared in 32 Poems, Smartish Pace, Fugue, Tar River Poetry and elsewhere.

Anderson-Bauer's fiction has been published in Melee Live, Gangsters In Concrete, a student-run publication at Emerson College, and Thin Air Magazine, where he was a finalist for the All Genre Contest.

The readings are the third event in Pulaski Tech's Big Rock Reading Series, which takes its name from the college's geographic location. The series will resume next semester.
