Pulaski Technical College will host an open house at its newly renovated Aerospace Technology Center from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 10.
The center, located at 1600 W. Maryland Ave. next to the North Little Rock Airport, is an FAA-certified school for training aircraft maintenance technicians.
The drop-in open house will showcase the recently completed renovation of the original hangar-style laboratory built in 1983, as well the 25,000-square-foot building that opened in August 2009.
Pulaski Tech received $500,000 through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to renovate the original 10,000-square-foot building and to make energy-efficiency upgrades.
"With the addition of the flight simulator, we now have the most advanced capabilities for recertifying pilots on instrument ratings training and for training flight students," said Steve Hotle, the center's director. "For anyone interested in a career in aerospace, this is the perfect time to come out and see our facilities and talk with our instructors."
About 100 students are enrolled in day and evening programs at the Aerospace Technology Center. Pulaski Tech offers an Associate of Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology and certification programs in Aircraft Manufacturing, Avionics/Electronics Technology and Aviation Maintenance Technology. Courses are also offered in CATIA and Nondestructive Testing.
